What is the ALPHAbar Club San Francisco?

Do you need a clever excuse to explore the various watering holes of San Francisco every other Wednesday, meet some new people, and blow off some steam?

Well, as organizers of AlphaBar, we're your solution!

AlphaBar is a year-long series of bar events on Wednesday nights (8:00pm-?) where we start with a bar beginning with the letter A, two weeks later hit a bar beginning with the letter B, all the way to the letter Z.

The first stop will be Amante, a cool bar in North Beach on Green Street near Columbus.

The beauty of Alphabar is three-fold: There's 26 letters in the alphabet, and every other week means we go 52 weeks or exactly one year (with events every two weeks). Second, you get to visit bars you probably have never been to, thereby diversifying your drinking establishment portfolio. And three, and most importantly, we've established a foundation of some really cool peeps for you to meet along the way that will only snowball with your additional network of friends.

Invitees are simply like-minded folks who just want to get out of the house and grab a few drinks on a "school night", mid-week. And yes, admission is free--no cover! We will likely also have drink specials at each bar, given the volume of people we'll generate. Bars will love us. You will love them.

You're free and actually encouraged to invite anyone else who might want to join our one-year long "parade" through the bars of San Francisco. Think of it as a year-long pub crawl!

The schedule of bars is on the home page of this blog sfalphabar.blogspot.com and, is subject to change. If you want to be added to a bi-weekly evite as a reminder email alphabarsarah@gmail.com.

See you there...again, we kick it off Weds, Sept 12th at Amante in North Beach at 8:00pm.

Your Alphabar Organizers,
Sarah Ovies, Sabrina Hanavan, Paul Dyson
